Before he dies, he hands his diary to his favourite student, George Papachatzis, later prominent Professor of Law and Rector of Panteion University of Greece.�The diary circulates as hidden knowledge amongst high ranking masons in the lodges of Athens. In 1972, professor Papachatzis, despite an intense dispute, decides to publish Dienach’s diary in Greek.

Paul Dienach was not an author, poet, or professional writer. Rather, he was an ordinary man who kept a journal, never with the expectation that it would be published.

About the Author
Achilleas Sirigos was born in Athens on 24th May 1973. He undertook a Law degree at Athens University and fulfilled his childhood dream by becoming a sportscaster at SKAI TV at the age of 21. Since 1994 he has written more than 1.000 articles in the biggest Greek magazines and newspapers (including interviews with Paolo Coehlo, Michael Jordan, Luc Besson, Professor Nanopoulos and many others). In addition he has edited 2 books, hosted TV and radio shows and worked in more than 50 prime time TV shows as an executive producer, project manager or editor in chief, aired by the biggest TV stations in Greece (MEGA, ANT1, STAR, SKAI, ALPHA). He has also worked with all the leading Production Companies in Greece (ENA Productions, ANOSI, Studio Ata, On Productions, Plus) as project manager and creator of TV formats. After working for more than two years on the scripts of Paul Amadeus Dienach, he decided to publish worldwide the new edition of Dienach's original Diary Pages, which was formerly available only in Greece. This legendary book, which was originally given to him by his brother, is now the centerfold of his life and he is determined to share this world heritage with as many readers as possible.

Enlightening and eye-opening

This was a very enlightening read. Whether or not this is a true account of the future or a strange metaphysical event with other explanations, the book sets out in fascinating detail what will (or could) happen over the course of the next two millennia. Some of it is shocking but most of it offers hope for humanity at a time in which there is little. It seems impossible to fathom a world without wars, poverty, or people working like slaves - how could such an outcome ever happen? This diary sets out exactly how it CAN happen. While some of the apparent future events are nothing less than disastrous, I can only hope that the rest of it - the evolution of mankind to a new and peaceful way of being - becomes a reality.

This is a truly interesting read. Is a spiritual journey to the future. Irrelevant if is a true story or not. The dream is beautiful the colors are bright and the story unique. The message is positive the future is bright, beyond imagination. If true there is nothing to be afraid, just relax and enjoy.
Strongly recommend as an odd, intriguing mental experience.

Business consultant Bridges (Managing Transitions, Addison-Wesley, 1991) has written an engaging and challenging book outlining how the changing nature of work will dramatically alter how we do our jobs. He persuasively argues that the present information-based economy demands more flexible employment models than a manufacturing-based economy. Bridges states that the emerging economy will not require a set pattern of work from individuals (i.e., a job) but sets of complex tasks, requiring different sets of skills at different times. He uses highly detailed statistics to buttress his arguments. His book is especially strong on the psychological implications of the changing economy, though it might have benefited from charts and graphs illustrating employment trends, such as those used in William Johnston's Workforce 2000 (Hudson Institute, 1987). Recommended for general and business collections.

Great advice for last century

This book was recommended to me by a colleague who read it back when it first came out. And I can understand how this book might have really jarred some people at the time. The fact is, people in the 90's were freaked out that their job was going to be outsourced and no one knew what to do. "Self-employment" was still a dirty word in many circles. The idea of being a "freelancer" or a "consultant" was still new. Until fairly recently, this was a path chosen only by malcontents who were unable to hold steady jobs. The idea of embracing this lifestyle instead of a career path job was, back in the day, completely outlandish and scary.

The thing is that the world Job Shift predicted has come and gone. People fled their offices to become consultants and "solo practitioners" of their craft and now they are clamoring to get back into the corporate world with the sweet embrace of dental insurance and all of the many perks of selling your soul. Perhaps more importantly companies aren't as willing to shell out megabucks to one-man consulting shops the same way they were before. HR consultants were hit particularly hard in this area. Following the advice of a single bad consultant could bring you millions in judgments. Swarms of unemployed lawyers also entered the business and pushed out countless HR, safety, business development and even sales consultants with their sexy JDs lending credence to their words.

In short, this is a great book if you happen to be reading it in 1998. If you are reading it in 2016 there is very little in it that you will find useful. You might enjoy thumbing through the pages and having a chuckle as the author opines whether a person will ever be able to work from home more effectively thanks to "electronic mail" but other than a nostalgic trip or an anthropological view into how we lived back in the 90's this book holds no real value.

I'm hanging onto my copy only because the used copies online are selling for pennies and it wouldn't be worth the effort to sell it.

I got the book for information on how to manage in a world where jobs are disappearing. While the author discusses the job landscape that was taking form almost 20 years ago, the discussion is still valid today. Most importantly, the author describes how people can best manage the transition period between losing a job and finding another which is as relevant today as it ever was.

Amazing Uncharted Art

[[VIDEOID:66052936f2779ed320e6f0eb85f67c39]]I'm a big fan of Uncharted and the art so this book is pretty much a must-buy for me.

When it comes to video game art and concept, I feel that Uncharted probably has the most absorbing characters and environments. The main characters are quite likeable and memorable. The environments in the game are absolutely breathtaking.

The Art of the Uncharted Trilogy features the character and environment design for the first three games. It's a 192-page hardcover filled with wonderful art. Looking back at all the beautiful artworks reminds me of the time I first played the game. I was awed by the visuals, and I still am.

Interestingly, art from the first game had a more comic-like look and feel to them, e.g. line art for character designs. From the second game onwards, it went on to have more realism built in. You can see that in the progression of design for the main characters from the first to third game. Environment art also started to be more detailed.

The downside of the book is there should have been more art included. 192 pages are divided among the three games so actually each game just has under a hundred pages. A lot of artworks were left out for sure because The Art of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves by itself is already 272 pages. It's difficult to imagine how much artworks were left out for the first and third game, and how much more awesome this book could have been.

And because there's the dedicated artbook for the Uncharted 2, artworks for that game are duplicated in majority inside this book.

As a standalone book, it's definitely highly recommended to all the Uncharted fans and those who like video game art. I just wished I could see more.

It's gorgeous

A very nicely compiled art book, featuring art from all 3 uncharted games. Each page is made of a nice semi-gloss like paper. I especially love how they give some descriptions of the thought process behind each character when they were first being conceived. A must have for any Uncharted enthusiast and art lovers.

An exciting package of all the three uncharted games, I just finished the trilogy once again, this time on PS4 and went through this book afterwards, it's been great, the illustrations and some of the art is astounding, mainly for the 2nd and 3rd uncharted game, I just wish there was a lot more of it, I missed on the uncharted 2 and 3 artbook because I was kind of a late buyer of PS3, I only bought it in summer 2012. And only now after getting ps4 for christmas this year I managed to go through all 3 games during the holidays and browsing through the book was a pleasure, it's a great companion for every uncharted fan. I would recommend it without a doubt !

Este libro me ayud� a entender finalmente como es que se programa en PHP. Cada explicaci�n viene acompa�ada de uno o mas ejemplos sencillos, asi que es dificil perderse.

El autor se tom� el trabajo (�Por fin...!) de explicar los conceptos que est�n alrededor del desarrollo de una p�gina web. Muchos autores que se dice escriben para nosotros los novatos terminan escribiendo libros para sabios.

Recomiendo el libro con los ojos cerrados.

Encuentro que un libro t�cnico que contiene fotografias, esquemas o texto que no puede ser amplificado resulta de total inutilidad, como lo es en este caso. Por ejemplo de que sirve que aparezca una p�gina completa con un fragmento de programaci�n si �ste no se puede leer por lo peque�o del tipo de letra, simbolo o n�mero. Los editores y autores deber�an de cuidar esos detalles tan importantes porque resulta inutil para cualquier persona al tratar de entender o aprenderlo que se pretende con el libro.

Although I had reservations about the title, I decided to read Thelma, The Slap Therapist. It was a hoot! And underneath the laughter, there was a light hand on the nostalgia we all experience, and a decidedly surprising understanding of how we cover ourselves with masks, and what happens when we allow ourselves to truly be seen by others. A real hoot!

SOPHIA IS GOD (or at least she thinks she is)

I mean, ugh... I hate writing this in the face of so much fanfare, but felt like I needed to get some frustration off my chest.

The good:
+ This book is incredibly compelling. I finished the entire thing on one 4-hour flight on 3 hours of sleep. She (or her ghostwriter) is a great storyteller.
+ It truly is inspiring to read about a type of success not born of traditional privilege or ambition - I hope this book gets a lot of other young women out there to kick-start their dreams.
+ I really appreciate that she didn't focus on gender at all - this wasn't a "girl power!" book so much as it was an "entrepreneur power!" book written by a girl.

The less good:
+ I had never heard of Nasty Gal before I picked this up. Never mind that I'm a fashion-oriented mid-20s female - I'll assume this is on me. Sophia seems to think her company is God's gift to Earth - I found her completely presumptuous both in her evaluation of her own brand equity, and hyperbolic in her descriptions of Nasty Gal as a "huge, explosive success" (I live and work in Silicon Valley, where nonprofits get $20M in funding annually easy and companies grow from 1 to 350 employees in two years - let's have a sense of scale here.)
+ There was a consistent thread of put-downs and humblebrags in here, which happen to be two stylistic choices I absolutely deplore. Sophia claims to have done poorly in school because of the rigid system and been fired from jobs because she didn't care enough to try (essentially excusing herself from blame). She disses investors/VC culture, MySpace (the original foundation for her business), "boring" people with 9-to-5s, eBay, and several poor unnamed employees of hers. I get it - she loves herself. I just pray to God that no young woman reading this ever thinks it's ok to be this self-righteous.
+ She never once thanks anyone. She had some nice words about some coworkers, but she never acknowledges the support her family gave her even as she was essentially a parenting failure, never thanks her customers for driving awareness of her brand, never admits that some of her colleagues are at least part of the reason behind her company's success.
+ She plays the victim so much but never acknowledges any real failures (and now, hiring someone you thought was right for the role and then having to fire them isn't a failure - it's a rhetorical device used to assert your authority in this book.) She whines about "catty" retailers and petty competitors and never once steps down from her high horse to admit to the very real failures that affect every new business (like screwing up orders, dissatisfied customers, mis-spending capital, etc.)

In sum, I hope I never get stuck in an elevator with Sophia, but I'm glad my flight went by quickly.

I love Sophia Amoruso for the empire that she's built. Like her, I'm also femail e-tail business owner, so she's idol. She found her passion in life, worked hard at (she is darn good at it, and built an incredible business that has been very much copied on the internet. That's her story. However, this is actually a self-improvement book for young girls who were ONCE LIKE Sophia - as a youngster, she was a typical American teenager, somewhat of an outcast, did what she could in her part-time jobs "just to get by". And in this book, she speaks to readers who were JUST like her when she was their age - she's speaking to the average Nasty Gal customer in this book.

I was looking for more business advice from this book - hoping for some advice specifically on the topic of ecommerce. But this book was more about her life and how to improve your character as a young woman in a male-dominated world. It was also mainly written for her fans - 100s of 1000s of young Nasty Gal customers who worship the ground she walks on and wanted to know her story. That was understandable. And it's a great book for youngters who are in need of guidance. But if you're a business person looking to crack into that brilliant mind of hers, this book does not satisfy. If you want to better understand how Amoruso built Nasty Gal, look up some of her interviews on YouTube.

Waste of Time

I wasn't expecting much, but I was really hoping for more information about selling clothing online. Instead it was mostly just a narcissist bragging about things like getting away with shoplifting, how much money her company makes over lunch, and buying a Porsche with cash. Really glad I borrowed this from the library instead of buying it. I think I read the last half purely out of spite. Just terrible.
