When I began writing�(R)evolution, I thought hard about the hundreds of people I have coached. My goal was to create a character who demonstrated the most common things executives do to derail their career. Tom pretty much wrote himself.

In all honesty, I am a little worried that Tom will hit close to home for many readers, making them uncomfortable with the similarities. There were a few times when I was writing the book and this happened. One day in particular, I had to pause my writing in the middle of a chapter for an executive web-coaching. During the coaching session, I found myself reliving the dialogue in the chapter, almost word-for-word. It was an eerie moment when I thought to myself, "This is either really good or really bad".

One of the reasons Tom was so easy to write about was that I had a little bit of Tom in me. We all do. What a great book! It's a fast read

What a great book! It's a fast read, and a book I didn't want to put down because I was anxious to see Tom's progress. This book provides great insight into what a difference an executive coach can make in someone's life- to become a better leader, a better manager, a better team player, and even a better spouse, parent and all around more likable person. I think everyone can learn from this book, and we all need to work on becoming better! I highly recommend this book.

What a refreshing way to present information on what executive coaching is and how a professional can benefit from using this tool to better themselves. This story is mostly set in a coffee shop during weekly meetings between a coach and their client. Such a creative tool to educate the reader on the types of steps and hard work that is involved in this type of coaching relationship. Sonya's gentle leading but tough questions forces the reader to hold that mirror up and evaluate the same qualities in themselves that Tom needs to, and eventually wants to, change and improve for the better.

Very Very Good

I am a practitioner of mantra chanting, I liked the way Swami Radha explanied the subtle concepts which helped me to enhance my practice also her explanations cleared my doubts and increased my faith. Mantra chanting sometimes feel dry and boring, we get many doubts as the process is long and slow, Swami Radha addressed such questions, it is a must for all people who are interested in Mantra chanting.

Mantras and their purpose

Swami Radha has made a profound contribution to Yoga and related lore in her writings; this is an outstanding example. Written with candor and intense spiritual insight, she adds an important volume to the literature of Mantra Yoga. Moreover, her personal experience and eminent qualification to address this topic adds power and depth to her treatise. This is a book to read slowly, reflectively, savoring her elegant yet remarkably simple manner of revealing one of India's great secrets. A valuable addition to the library of any serious student of Yoga or Eastern traditions.

Good, if taken in moderation.

Swami Sivananda Radha's book makes mantras very accessible. I especially like her inclusion of the melody lines with the words to a number of traditional Hindu and some non-Hindu mantras. These make the book stand out from a multitude on the subject of mantras. If you are not inclined to sing your mantras, then the book may not be what you need, though.

There are two things that bother me about the book and prevent me from giving it a higher rating. I am sure that the swami would have been a delight to be around, judging from the upbeat and sunny tone of writing, but I find her dedication to mantras, as expressed in the book, too fanatical. When she cites critical points in the practice of a single mantra occurring at two weeks, three months, and then two years, one sees she is in this for the long haul. She considers someone who chants ten hours a day for years and years a "spiritual saint." I would see this person as one-dimensional. Although Radha would likely say this person devotion to mantra is contributing to society by the vibrations of the mantra, I am a skeptic in this regard. I do believe mantras can help an individual, but I believe in their use in moderation. Her tone suggests you must be fanatical or they won't work for you. I use them in moderation to great benefit. She might counter with "then think of what benefit you might have if you really devoted yourself to them." To that I just say, "No thanks."

The other issue I have with the book is the abundance of sugary religiosity. I don't doubt her genuine feelings toward religion, but it just turns me off when I see advice concerning worshiping this deity or that, given as if it were no different than advice for buying toothpaste to make your smile nicer.

The second part is about the remodeling theory and gives an historical review of the developed numerical approaches up to now. The implementation of the remodeling algorithm in ANSYS and MATLAB as well as its validation is topic of part three. In last main part, the algorithm is applied to a 2D FE-model of a human proximal femur.

Wonderful text!

I am using this modern revision of The Scarlet Letter in an American Literature class that I teach. I cannot rave enough about it! The simplified language is not too different from the original, and it is easily understood. My class is enjoying their study of Hawthorne's classic, thanks to Jim McGuiggan!

Very edited, and not well

I bought this book hoping that the only changes would be taking out the thou's and thee's and a few other of the most obscure terms. However, this book is very heavily edited and unfortunately takes out some of the main literary devices and themes. From the very first chapter where the editor takes out Hawthorne addressing the reader directly, it seems very much like the editor does not have a strong grasp on the more important aspects of the book. I definitely will not be using this book in my English class.

I have enjoyed readin the Revised edition of The Scarlet Letter. They did a great job with the story and one of the strongest assets was to tell the story with honestly and great beauty.
